At each monthly meeting, we set aside time to discuss the current season and talk about current situations that may have arisen.
We also cover rules changes, points of emphasis as well as reviewing the annual IHSA tests.
The monthly meetings are excellent opportunities for you to meet other officials and build your personal network.
The IHSA requires officials to regularly attend clinics to help improve their skills. The COA provides local clinics in each sport annually.
COA members are able to attend for free. Non-members may attend for a $30 fee for each clinic. If you officiate in all 5 COA sports, that's a $150 value.
COA members are listed in our online membership directory. This directory is available to all COA members and is also made available to area Athletic Directors and Administrators to use when looking for officials. This is a great resource when needing officials to fill games.
The COA sponsors an annual holiday party for each member and a guest. This is a special event to thank each official for the service to the athletes in our area. The party typically includes a catered meal, fellowship, awards and door prizes.
